The match-ups for week 7 of #
skeeball are out and #2
Holey Rollers (966.8) are paired up with #7
Skeemotional Damage (832.7). I expect we will win this match. I also expect that
Wasted Unicorns make-up games will leap-frog them back above us in rank (although, that probably won't show up for another week). We passed up
The Ringers after we had our best week and they had their worst, so that is the real competition for tomorrow. In total points (as opposed to average), we are 142 points ahead. That sounds like a lot, but when the difference between a team's best game and a worst game is over 100 points... well, let's put it this way -- we gained 218 points on them last week, so the reverse could happen.
Lane 4 has been really good for a lot of players this season (and at the end of last season). I suspect that most high scores happened on it. To be fair to everyone, the organizers are making sure each team gets exactly 2 weeks on lane 4. Last week was our first time on it. The other 2 players had season highs and I had a season low. Either this week or next week, we should be assigned lane 4 again. Hopefully, I can make it work and we can set an even better high score. For bank shots, it just wasn't working for me. What has worked for me has been a very relaxed rolling style. Doing that wasn't giving me enough bounce to make it to the center pockets. I was having to roll harder, which made things feel very forced. I seemed to find the balance in the middle of the match, but then lost it at the end. I guess we will see what happens tomorrow night.
