In case anyone is under the delusion that the US government can be trusted to operate a "Ministry of Truth", let me remind you that half of the country thinks they got lied to on a daily basis by the former administration and the other half thinks the current administration is in power because of "The Big Lie."

Also:
Fauci admits that telling us not to wear masks in the early days of covid was a lie.
Obama: If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan.
Bush: Iraq has weapons of mass destruction.

You could fill a book with the lies they tell (even if you gave Trump his own book).

Sounds like an asset forfeiture case. Instead of charging you with a crime (innocent until proved guilty), they charge your property with a crime (guilty until proved innocent). Having stolen your property, they may have removed your ability to mount a legal defense. This is actually part of the intent, when used as the anti-racketeering tool it was intended to be. But, like all powers the government gives itself, once acquired, it gets used whenever convenient. If you search my "civil forfeiture" category, I've got over 2 dozen posts on the subject in recent years. These aren't cases of likely criminals, but normal people having cash or vehicles stolen from them by authorities.
