The new Brewskee-ball season starts tonight. Late last night, my wife informed me that the person I replaced last season would be playing this season. So, unless I can find myself a new team tonight, I am on the bench. I've been trying to drum up some interest from co-workers, but I'm not hopeful of seeing any of them tonight. I'll probably just have to settle for some pre-season cookies unless there happens to be another team looking for a 3rd.

I still don't have a team, but I am not alone, so maybe next week some will form up on the first night of team competition. I know it seems strange to say there are lots of others, but we haven't formed a team, but just because I see people on a list, it doesn't mean I know who they are. I did ask one person who I did know, but she said she was up in the air with another team. Never having been part of this process before, i don't know if the organizers try to put the teamless in touch with each other during the week after signups.

Last night was the first night of team competition. I still don't have a team, but there was a team with only one member present last night, so they made a dummy team for me and we competed. This gives me scores so that, at the end of the season, I'll have enough weeks of play to qualify for the tournament. It was my worse night ever. Only 228. My previous worst was 242. I just couldn't get into the groove.

We shall see what happens next week, both in terms of scoring and finding a team.

The schedule of Monday's match-ups came out today and my team (possibly still of 1) is matched up against my wife's team (of 3). missing players get a score of 9 per frame (minimum score w/o the skeeball equivalent of a gutter ball), so my team will get 180 points plus my score.

Last week, I had my worst night ever and, tonight, I had my best (273, beating 272). As a team, I lost, of course. Individually, I tied my wife, and beat both of her teammates!
