Week 6 of #
skeeball
is tomorrow night. The Mo-skeetos face #3 Skeetwood Mac at 7pm.
I don't know what my problem was last week, but hopefully I'll be back to normal.

I'm sure it will come as no great surprise that we lost. It was 803-1026 (the middle score of the night vs the highest score of the night). Their lowest scorer beat our highest scorer. But, it was our 2nd highest score of the season! Mike led the team for the first time this season with a 303 and I came next with a 267 (with a range of 18-34), slightly beating my average thanks to it being damaged last week. Mike almost had the high frame of the match with a 66 (6 points in 3 rolls up the middle followed by sinking 6 hundos in a row), but in the last frame of the match, one of our opponents scored a 72.
I may not have solved the secret to getting a good roll, but I know the secret to getting a bad one. All I have to do is think of the consequences of a score. If I think "4 more will give me 16", I'll roll a 2. I made the mistake of thinking "I only have to get 2 on this last roll to get a 30" and I rolled a 1. Unfortunately, we can't trust the machines to keep score, so I can't just ignore the score. I have to keep score as I go, which makes it really hard not to anticipate. Even if I wasn't actively keeping score, if I get a string of 4's going, my mind starts to think "Can I get a full circle (all 4's)?" and then I miss the next one.
