I'm sure I have said something like this before...
Every 4 years, the team in control of the Presidency loses its shit over the thought of what the candidate from the other team would do with all those powers, should they win. It's all political bullshit. Did they do anything to limit those powers while they were in control or did they think their team would win forever? It is all a political game to accumulate more control over the rest of us, knowing that they will get to use that control about half the time. If it makes for good fear-mongering during election campaigns, all the better.
