The #
skeeball team tournament finishes tonight. The top tournament has semi-finals and finals. The bottom tournament has finals. My wife and I are in none of these. Unfortunately, the (non-tournament) awards are before those games and the Hundo Derby is after. So, it will be a long night with not much for us to do.
In the Hundo Derby, everyone rolls one frame on each of the 4 lanes, tallying up the total number of hundos you get. Some top number of people (to be determined based on score distribution at the time) from that round will progress to the next round where you each roll one frame for hundos on the same one lane. If there is a tie for first, those people then roll one frame on the next lane and so on until someone comes out as a winner.
Monday night will be the individual tournament. I am ranked 21st out of 30 players this season. Of course, all 30 probably won't show up for the tournament. Depending on how many participate, we shall see where that puts me in the bracket.
The individual tournament has people play three 1-frame games against each other (five, once we get to the final 4). Whoever wins 2 our of 3 (or 3 out of 5) progresses to the next round. In case an individual game is a tie, another is played. There is an advantage to rolling 2nd because you know what score you have to beat. The higher-ranked player gets to go 2nd on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th games.
