I am not following this too closely, as I always considered Earth's gravity well a showstopper for anything really exciting in my own lifetime. Add the reentry, and the ratio of useful cargo to the rest of the spacecraft is dwarfed. A spacecraft build around the orbit, like the space-station, may reduce the bulky shell. I think the next exciting mission is going to be building a robotic mission to collect / capture the stuff from the moon, space debris (natural dust, gases, ore) to be used to build more. Decades down the road for sure.

When done, with first stage complete as well, it will be like a reusable Saturn 5 with more carrying capacity. Unlike the Saturn 5, it doesn't take 10% of the entire national budget to build.
