This was the first week of regular season play in #
skeeball. We have a 3rd played for our team now. I think we now have the oldest (me) and youngest (our new player, Opal) on our team. We were playing a team who only had 2 players show up (the 3rd gets placeholder scores of 9 per frame) and we still lost 694-741. I was the high scorer on our team (always a bad sign) with 268, which is above average for me. I was using my new hybrid scheme where I roll for hundos until I miss 2, then start rolling up the middle. With this scheme I got 5 hundos for the night, which would imply I got 5 out of 25 or 20%. If I rolled for all hundos and hit 20%, that would have given me a score of 252, so maybe going hybrid was a good choice. The idea of this scheme is to give the chance of a hot run (which sometimes happens, but not tonight) without getting killed by my average.
