I'll hold off on showing the completed base until both pieces are fitted together. Castle is being printed for my friend, @
Brian Tui.
The castle itself due to repeating retractions on the arches, found some issues with my retraction settings where on rare occasions, it would cause the filament to seize in the print head(due to cooling), just above the heater. It seemed to work itself out eventually without causing a fail, but that's never a good thing.
Under normal 3D prints, patterns like the arches on this castle near the front door are not as repeating and I would have never had an issue with the retraction settings that I set.
I fine tuned the settings and believe I have solved issues with seizing. I'll run a print test to confirm after this print complete.
I've also updated the firmware as well as prusaslicer settings to support firmware retraction. That way, I can change the retraction setting on-the-fly without having to rebuild/edit the gcode file and restart. I can see cases where this could come in real handy for fine tuning based off of different parts of a long print or if I change my printer again with other upgrades.
This castle is beautiful at this scale. Now I want larger one like this for myself!
